Hey, there! I’m Jess. Welcome to Mary & Martha, where our mission is to bring eternal hope & encouragement to every home, every day!
This company offers so much more than beautiful home decor & gifts; it offers opportunities to place God at the center of every part of our day. These products inspire us to share the love of God, serve others and connect with each other through a warm invitation. We focus more on our heart-settings than perfecting our table-settings.
This is the mission that brought me to Mary & Martha. On February 14th, 2016 I lost my younger brother, Dan, and my sister-in-law, Kayla, in an accident caused by a driver who was under the influence. In the midst of our sorrow, we clung to the hope and comfort only the Lord can provide. A new perspective began to emerge from my brokenness. I knew that I was placed here for a purpose and as my perspective shifted, so did my desire to live differently. I began to pray for an opportunity that would allow me to heal, share my faith, and share Dan & Kayla's lives.
The way that Dan & Kayla lived their 21 & 20 years is inspiring to everyone who knew them. They both made it their purpose to glorify God & serve Him in everything. Dan did this full-time through the Arts Ministry at his church, playing guitar and contributing his creative talents to the team. Kayla had just graduated with her degree in Business Administration: Entrepreneurship from Liberty University and was looking forward to a management position at her church's brand new coffee bar. She served through the Hospitality Team and knew the importance of welcoming others. She believed that a simple cup of coffee & conversation could lead to a lasting connection. I've always marveled at how focused they both were in their mission to serve.
On February 6th, 2016, Dan told me that if I wanted to grow in community and make real connections, I needed to “serve.” On March 16th, 2016, I found Mary & Martha.
It was through our company’s mission to Welcome, Serve & Connect that I built a community of sisters from coast to coast. The past seven years have proven Dan’s statement to be true. Serving you through this business is a huge blessing and I have experienced
far more goodness than I could have asked or imagined thanks to this leap of faith.
